About National Stormwater Summit
A nationwide series of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) - Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) workshops has been developed to meet this educational need. The producer of The National Stormwater Summit, Hall Solutions Group (HSG), is a leader in erosion control and storm water compliance competencies. Through strategic alliances, partnerships and resources from the EPA, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and International Erosion Control Association (IECA) these workshops offer tremendous value to the attendees as well as the participating sponsors. It is believed that this is the first time that the EPA and these two industry associations have collaborated to bring this important topic to the nation.
Each workshop will include 3 key elements:
Certified instructors will be used for classroom workshops. The EPA will also conduct “The EPA Perspective.” This classroom workshop highlights a unique perspective of the EPA’s role and criteria to remaining compliant to US Clean Water Act regulations. Note: The EPA has committed to participate in the majority of the cities based on available personnel in same locations. State and local delegates may be assigned where EPA representation can not be obtained.
An exclusive panel will be assembled including representatives from the EPA, NAHB, IECA, Homebuilders, BMP products, BMP Installers, Law Firms, and Consulting Engineers. The panel will be modeled after the highly touted Risk Management Forum, presented at IECA’s annual conference and expo EC05, in Dallas this past February.
HOME BUILDER SITE TOUR AND DEMONSTRATION
Buses will then transport attendees to on-site demos to preview a variety of BMP applications. Select Homebuilders and Participating Sponsors will have an opportunity to present their personal experiences with NPDES Compliance, including the benefits of their products and business practices. Participating sponsors will be used as guides to explain the use of these BMPs and their product or service’s value proposition.
